The Italian duo, Franco Albini and Franca Helg, were renowned architects and had their heyday in the 1950s, producing a wide range of renowned furniture designs as well as architectural works and properties. The aesthetics are clearly seen in the elegant bistro chair, originally designed in the 1950s.

The chair is handcrafted in sustainable Indonesian rattan by skilled wicker makers. Sika-Design weaves their Affäire furniture with the fantastic ArtFibre which is artificial fibers made from maintenance-free polyethylene that can withstand the sun's UV radiation. The combination of rattan and ArtFibre gives the wicker furniture a unique strength, flexibility and comfort.
